What is the most off-the-wall topic you ever argued about at the Xmas dinner table? Yesterday I found myself arguing about who was the rightful heir to the throne of Elizabeth I. Yes, Elizabeth I, the daughter of Henry VIII, not the current Queen of England.
I love the holidays….NOT.
Just so you are sure that I am truly being sarcastic, here’s the results of a test I took yesterday.
You’re Totally Sarcastic |
Seriously, though, you have a sharp tongue – and you aren’t afraid to use it. And if people are too wimpy to deal with your attitutde, then too bad. So sad. |
So, how were YOUR holidays?
I would have been delighted to discuss this particular topic at the Christmas dinner table! Instead I spent the holiday in Sweden, where strange traditions, my in-laws’ weird family dynamic and really horrible food dominated the weekend. Happy New Year in any case!
LOL
Traditions … I am of Asian descent, but was born, raised, and have never been outside of, the United States. My (Caucasian) boyfriend’s mother still can’t get it through her head that I do celebrate Xmas, just not with all the fuss that she makes about it. She is determined to teach me the ways of America … and of my “true” Chinese culture. Go figure.
And aren’t dynamics in any family “weird” to any non-family member?
Happy New Year to you, too. I visited your blog and have bookmarked it. I love it!
HellO!
I noticed this blog that I came across in random, and I found it relatively funny.
This ‘sarcasm’ blog entry caught my attention and I continue reading.
I’d love to be able to speak like that.
=)
We had Christmas at my home. I havent been able to invite people over until now as our apartment really was not large enough for to many guests. (And I now have a dinning room table)
Christmas this year was not full of alot of traditions, for the most part. We did the standard “kid” things, for the children. But I just didnt feel the spirit (unless you count the foster kitties. My Dad died last December. All the traditions (German) I learned from him, and have always enjoyed…I just didnt feel like doing anything more than the basic stuff.
Fortunately, the dinner discussion was pretty low key and enjoyable.
What exactly did you, Miss Mah, add to the conversation or atmospherer in my home?
I do not recall ever discussing your “real” Chinese Culture. I did tell you when you first came to live here, that I had always has a fasination with cultures other than my own. Your message is deffinately “through my head now”
